Lois K. Breitegan, 89, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Lancaster Regional Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia, PA. she was the daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude (Hough) Kienzy. Lois was the loving wife to the late James V. Breitegan who passed away in 2016. Lois was a devoted member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Lancaster, PA where she was involved in the altar guild and flower guild. Lois was a 1945 graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School and later graduated in 1949 from Millersville University with a Bachelor's degree in Education. In addition to being extremely devoted to church, Lois loved American History. She was a member of Daughters of American Revolution (Donegal Chapter), Ephrata Cloister Associates, volunteered at Wheatland, and was a member of the Fulton Theater Guild. Lois had a passion for the outdoors and especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Lois is survived by her three loving sons, James V. Breitegan Jr., husband of Phyllis, C. Curtis Breitegan, husband of Tammy, and David A. Breitegan all of Lancaster, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and six nieces and nephews. Lois was preceded in death by one daughter, Zoe A. Breitegan, and her three sisters, Arlene Davidson, Barbara K. Shipman, and Charlotte Snyder. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 1:00PM at St. John's Episcopal Church, 321 W. Chestnut St, Lancaster, PA 17603 with Rev. John Morris officiating. Lois and her husband James will be interred together at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery privately and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Lois may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, 321 W Chestnut St, Lancaster, PA 17603.
