Obituary

Lloyd M. Shreiner, 83, loving husband, father and grandfather, of East Petersburg, died Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Alice G. Lines Shreiner for 57 years. Born in New Holland, he was the son of the late Phares and Florence Myers Shreiner.

SGT Shreiner served in the US Army during the Korean War with Co. B 145th Infantry Regiment at Camp Polk, LA.  He then worked as a truck driver, a farmer, and owned Shreiner's Used Cars in Manheim reconditioning and selling used cars. He was a member of Ammon K. Gibble American Legion Post #419, Manheim, Brendle-Coleman VFW Post #8795, Adamstown, and a VFW Post in Delaware. Lloyd was an avid golfer, he enjoyed motorhome camping, clamming, and crabbing at Indian River Inlet, DE.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Alice, are his daughter Sandra, wife of Kyle Walter, Loch Sheldrake, NY; 9 grandchildren, Ursula, Ulrich, Odessa, Gunther and Aja Shreiner, Jessica Journet, Jennifer Pelayes and Alexis and Julianna Walter; 5 great grandchildren and his twin brother Floyd, husband of Catherine Shreiner, Ephrata. He was preceded in death by siblings Sam, Elmer, Alta, Paul and Phares, Jr.
