Lloyd H. Herr, 87, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Brethren Village where he resided for the last six years. The husband of Darlene E. (Miller) Herr, they just observed their 65th wedding anniversary. Born on the family farm in Pequea Township, he was the son of the late Ira H. and Mamie (Hess) Herr. He was a dairy and broiler farmer until 1973 when he joined the custodial staff of Millersville University from which he retired in 1993. In his retirement, he served as sexton of the Ascension Lutheran Church, Willow Street. A lifetime member of the Pequea Brethren in Christ Church, he served as a church and cemetery trustee for 15 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter Lucy K. Kalenich (James) of Millersville; Timothy L. (Linda Diehl) of New Holland; and Thomas D. (Anita Roller) of Chicago; nine grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and three nephews: G. Evan Harnish, Glenn R. Herr, and J. Carl Herr. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 PM on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Pequea Church, 40 Church Road, Lancaster, PA 17603 with Pastor Daleen Charles officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Interment in the adjoining cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. Kindly omit flowers.
