Leroy Hoffman, 74 of Lititz, passed away on February 19, 2016 at the Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Dover, PA, he was the son of the late George and Charlotte (Hirt) Hoffman. Leroy was the husband of Beverly (Zeller) Hoffman. Leroy was a member of Church of the Apostles. He belonged to the New Beginnings class. Leroy graduated from Central High School. He received his B.S. Degree from Millersville State College and his M.ED from West Chester State College. He also took a course at the University of Delaware. He taught Science at Conestoga Valley High School and retired in 1999. He was head track coach and cross country coach. He broke school records in his college career in the discus and performed well in the shot-put. He was a track official in the Lancaster PIAA. He was an Eagle Scout and a judge for the Lancaster County Science Fair. Surviving in addition to his wife, Beverly, are two sons: David H., husband of Lisa, and Timothy, husband of Janet; 6 grandchildren: Andrew, Christopher, Michael, Mary, Sarah and Matthew; and 5 siblings: Linda Brown, Gerald Hoffman, Charlotte Winters, John Hoffman and Joyce Teare. Leroy was preceded in death by 5 siblings: Dawn Sechrist, George Hoffman, Bonnie Kitzmiller, Glen Hoffman and Nancy Harris. Friends will be received from 10-11 AM on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Church of the Apostles UCC, 1850 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA 17603 with a Memorial Service to follow at 11AM officiated by Rev. Kathryn Kuhn. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater PA Chapter, 2595 Interstate Dr., Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or to the Church of the Apostles.
