Obituary

Leonard Lucheske, 87, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Hospice of Lancaster Essa Flory. He was born in Chester, PA to the late Edward Albin and Frances (Kaciuban) Luszczewski.

Leonard attended St. John Neumann Catholic Church and was a resident of the area for the past 15 years. He was a Veteran of WWII with the US Marines and worked on the 14 "Tiger Cats" that were carried to the invasion to end the war.

Leonard loved airplanes, was an avid reader, news enthusiast, and was proud to be a Veteran.  Leonard was a graduate of Temple University.  He worked for Baldwin Locomotives as a foreign export salesman and later was a restaurateur. Not one to retire, he worked well into his 80's at the Hamilton Club in Lancaster. To read more about Leonard, click here .

He is survived by three daughters, Alaine Grbach, wife of Bernard, of Penryn, Lauren Boerlin, wife of Craig, Mickelton, NJ, Dana Whitworth, of Coatesville, PA, five grandchildren, Kevin husband to Sally, Eric, Myles, Alaina, and Maria, three sisters, Eleanor, Loretta, and Valerie. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Nathaniel Boerlin.

Private Services and interment will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard P.O. Box 8601, Lancaster, PA 17604.
