Leon R. "Pop Pop" Thompson, 58, of Millersville, died Friday, May 9, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at home in Millersville.

Born in Trevos, PA, he was the husband of the late Laura Gordon, who died in 2009. He was the son of the late Robert and Betty (Franklin) Thompson.

Leon was employed as a chef for TGIFridays for 18 years.

He was a man who took care of everyone's children, considering them his own, and he loved being a grandfather to them all. Leon was also an avid Eagles and Sixers fan.

He is survived by his children: Evette Gordon, Jamar Gordon and his wife Jessica (Thedford), and Jeffery Gordon and his wife Twyla (Darby); 7 grandchildren: Iniah, Marquise, and Ahmade Gordon, Jamar Gordon, Jr, Heavon Reed, Jekhi Gordon, and Darrell Reed, Jr; a sister, Rachel Nelson; 3 brothers: Dean Thompson and his wife Detra, Robert Thompson Jr. and his wife Pamela, and Wayne Thompson; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jazzmiere Gordon; and a brother, Christopher Thompson.

Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St., Millersville, PA with Rev. Dean Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
