Leo Thomas Dougherty, 84, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on November 11, 2014 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Joppa, MD, he was the son of the late Edward and Josephine (Porter) Dougherty. Leo was the husband of Yvonne (Edwards) Dougherty with whom he celebrated 57 years of marriage. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served as a military policeman in the U.S. Army. Leo retired as a driver for the Lancaster Newspaper in 2009. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Leo enjoyed boxing and participated in the Golden Gloves Competition. He liked recording music and did so in his own amateur recording studio. Leo was an avid NASCAR fan. In addition to his wife, Yvonne, Leo is survived by 2 sons: Leo Thomas Dougherty, Jr. and Timothy Patrick Dougherty; a daughter, Emily Ann Dougherty; and a sister, Ida Montanary. Leo was preceded in death by a son, Michael Patrick Dougherty and a brother, Edward Dougherty. A viewing will take place from 9:30-10:45 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 AM on Friday, November 14, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph St., Lancaster, PA 17603. Interment will take place at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Bausman.
