Leo F Caskey, 94 of Lancaster passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Moravian Manor, where he was a guest for the past several months. He was the husband of the late Vera M. Caskey for 59 years before she passed away in 2003. Born in Lancaster, He was the son of the late Roland and Kathryn (Smith) Caskey. Leo attended Franklin & Marshall College where received an associate's degree in Accounting. He was a Veteran of WWII and served in the US Army Air Corps. Leo was a First Lieutenant Bombardier on a B-17. He flew missions in Germany, France, Romania, Austria, Italy and North Africa. Leo was the Plant Controller for 38 years at the Fuller Company, Manheim. He formerly was on the board of Health Guard of Lancaster. As an avid golfer, Leo was a former member of Conestoga Country Club. Another hobby he enjoyed was model ship building of tall ships, a passion in which he excelled at. He is survived by two daughters; Joyce E. Caskey of York and Jill A. Tipton of Lititz, a son; Thomas E. Caskey of Lancaster; grandchildren; Emily Snyder Lauer (Jamin) of York, Kathryn Snyder Trinh (Nam) of Manhattan, NY, Elizabeth Caskey Ramirez (Francisco) of Santiago, Chile, and Gabriel Caskey of Chicago, IL, Erica and Evan Tipton of Lititz, PA, six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janice Stork and Patricia Zeller, (Robert) all of Lancaster, and one brother, Edward Caskey (Sally) of Elizabethtown. Leo is preceded in death by three sisters; Rita Snyder, Mary Kline, and Ellen Supko. Visitation will be held at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave, Lancaster, PA 17601 on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 10:30am-11:30am followed by Mass Christian Burial at 11:30am with Rev. Peter Hahn as celebrant. Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Leo's memory to St Joseph Heath Ministries, 1929 Lincoln Hwy East/Suite 150, Lancaster, PA 17602 or Schreiber Pediatric Center, 625 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
