Lauren Nicole (Bastendorf) Newswanger, 43, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy after a courageous fight with cancer that she has won and no longer bares earthly scars.

She was the wife of Jeff Newswanger, with whom she shared 7 years of marriage this past September 17th. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Michael J. and Carol F. (Maloney) Bastendorf of Lancaster.

Lauren was a homemaker, taking care of her greatest treasure: her family. Previously she was a collections analyst for the Credit Bureau of Lancaster and Apex Asset Management and had also been a surgical technician at Lancaster General Hospital.

She was a graduate Lampeter Strasburg High School and Franklin University.

Lauren loved her family, and her daughters, Jordyn and Paxtyn…they were her everything. She loved to go to their events and helped coach cheer teams. She loved spending time with family and friends by the pool and traveling to exotic island locations. She most enjoyed being a wife and mother and cherished every moment.

In addition to her husband, Jeff, and parents, Mike and Carol, Lauren is survived by her daughters Jordyn and Paxtyn; her maternal grandmother Mary Vitatoe of Millersville, and her mother-in-law, Brenda Newswanger of Mount Joy.

Friends will be received by Lauren's family on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 1:30-2:30PM at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA, with the Memorial Service to follow at 3PM. During the service, there will be a time of sharing, so please bring a memory of Lauren to share with others. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Lauren's memory to Penn Manor Girls Youth Lacrosse, 255 Shultz Rd., Lancaster, PA 17603 (Lauren Newswanger on memo line) to help other girls experience the game of lacrosse.
