Laura W. Lisby, 64, of Lancaster, went home to be with her Lord on June 23, 2017 at Hospice & Community Care, Mt. Joy. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert W. and Lucille W. (Nixon) Murray. Laura is survived by her husband, Howard Lisby, of Lancaster. The two enjoyed traveling on road trips together, loved watching old movies, especially John Wayne and Clint Eastwood movies. They often joked together and made each other heart smile. Laura loved attending church. She was a long member of First Corinthian Baptist Church of Philadelphia, where the current Pastor, Rev. Dennis Thomas were Sunday school classmates. She also was a member of the Thompson Community Choir. Laura was a dietician at The Long Home Community and Conestoga View Nursing Home. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, visiting the casinos in Atlantic City, NJ, cooking for her family, and visiting Baltimore. Laura was always known to be the life of the party. Her belief for life was living the "aloha" spirit. She loved to dance and had five dance partners, her sons. She is survived by four sons, James Edward Murray, husband of James Charles Roberts, of Kapolei, HI, Julian Earl Murray, of Philadelphia, Antwine Jerome Murray, of Lancaster, Garnie Murray, husband of Angelina, of Lancaster, four grandchildren, Shakur, Sa-nyia, Zykirah, Miykha, 1 great grandchild, a brother, Walter Murray, husband of Marilyn, of Philadelphia, and a sister, Hattie Gardner, wife of David, of Philadelphia, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and hani 'ohana (family). She was preceded in death by a son, Antonio "Tony" Murray (2004), and two brothers, Tyrone Murray and Talib Abdul. Home Going Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 29th, 2017 at Greater St. Matthew Baptist Church, 1538 West Wingohocking St., Philadelphia, PA 19140 at 11AM. Viewings will be held on Wednesday at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory 414 E. King St. Lancaster, PA 17602 (6PM-8PM) and again Thursday morning at the church (9AM-11AM). Interment will take place on Friday, June 30th at 9AM at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
