Larry E. Hemperly, 80, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Elizabethtown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Elmer and Catharine (Neidamyer) Hemperly. Larry was the loving husband to the late Marla J. Hemperly who died in 1998. They had a special relationship and were very close to one another. Larry absolutely adored trains. He collected model trains and enjoyed traveling to places taking trains. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he was a member of church council for many years. Larry is survived by a cousin, Margaret Smith, his church family and many special friends. A Graveside Service will be held at 2PM on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery, 435 Manor Ave, Millersville, PA 17551, officiated by Rev. Richard Cook. Larry will be laid to rest beside Marla. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 612 N. Duke St, Lancaster, PA 17602.
