Kris Newman, 71, of Manheim, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Randolph, VT, he was the son of the late Robert A. and Cleo (Davis) Newman. He was the loving husband to Darleen (Myers) Newman, with whom he shared over 49 years of marriage this past June 23rd.

Kris was the Associate Pastor for 3 ½ years prior to becoming the Senior Pastor for 21 ½ years at First Assembly of God. He attended college at Zion Northpoint Bible College in Rhode Island and later graduated from Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri with a Bachelor degree in Bible Studies. Kris's faith and bringing the love of Jesus to others was of great importance to him. He attended Life Spring Fellowship in Lititz. Kris enjoyed freshwater fishing, feeding the birds and squirrels at his home and gardening. He enjoyed vacationing at the shore with his family. His greatest treasure was spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his genuine smile and sparkling eyes as well as his love for family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Kris is survived by his daughter Kristal Bentley of New Cumberland; his grandsons: Kyle (Haley) of Lititz and Kory (Nichole) of Monterey, CA; his great-grandchildren: Audrey and Dawson Bentley; his sister, Roberta Culver of Vermont; his niece Dr. Bambi Jasmin of Webster, NY and nephew Joshua Jasmin of Oregon.

Friends will be received on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory from 2PM to 4PM. Service will follow at 4PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Kris's memory to Lancaster First Assembly, 1025 Columbia Ave, Lancaster, PA 17603 for the Nakuru, Kenya Mission.
