Obituary

After his eight year-long battle with addiction, Kevin's fight is over. It breaks my heart to tell you that yesterday we lost a son, a brother, a friend and one of the most compassionate souls ever to have walked the earth. As Kevin's young life ends, the rest of our lives are changed forever; made better by walking alongside of him, if only for a short while. We remember his sweet smile, his tender-loving disposition and his adventurous light, his gentle spirit, playful demeanor and unconditional love for those held in his heart. He touched the lives of many in his short 23 years and we hope that his story will continue to reach those who also battle the darkness that is substance abuse. We celebrate the life that he lived, because sin has lost its power, and death has lost its sting.

Kevin was born in Lancaster 23 years ago to his loving parents James F. and Kimberly M. (Wiggins) Cascio of Millersville. He was a very loving, compassionate, loyal, respectful, hardworking and committed young man. Kevin loved animals and was very sensitive in a good way.

Kevin graduated from Hempfield High School, where he participated in Track & Field. He attended Cairn University for counseling and worked for Lancaster Fine Foods. Kevin had been active in IMPACT Youth at Calvary Church and was involved with the addiction support group at Grace Baptist Church.

Kevin's family includes his parents James and Kimberly; his sister Nicole Cascio of Lancaster; the family Golden Retriever Zoe; his grandparents, Robert and Mary Ann Wiggins and Ruth Cascio and the late Frank Cascio, all of Lancaster; aunts and uncle, Barry and Kelly Wiggins and Dave and Cathy Stoltz; and his cousins, Tyler and Cory Stoltz and Jessica and Chad Wiggins.

A memorial service will be held 11 AM, Friday, June 26, 2015, at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Rd., Lancaster, PA, with Rev. George May officiating. Kevin's family will greet friends immediately following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Water Street Ministries, PO Box 7267, Lancaster, PA 17604 or Dream Center, 2301 Bellevue Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90026.
