Kathryn H. Howland, 90, of Lititz, PA passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the United Zion Retirement Community. She was the wife of the late Amos G. Howland who died in 2005. Born in Slatington, PA she was a daughter of the late Arthur D. and Edith M. (Miller) Hughes. Kathryn was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and was employed with the Slatington and Chambersburg School Districts as a teacher for many years. She was an avid reader, bird watcher, gardener and enjoyed traveling to Cape Cod, New England, The British Isles and Chincoteague Beach. Kathryn was a loving mother and grandmother. She was Lutheran by faith. She is survived her children David Howland and wife Lorie of Shippensburg, PA, Kathy wife of Tom Panetti of Downingtown, PA and John Howland and wife Leslie of Lititz, PA; seven grandchildren Kara, Kristen, Lauren, Nicholas, JA, William and Mark; a brother-in-law Thomas Loetzbeier of Bath, PA. She was preceded in death by her sister Anne Loetzbeier. Memorial services will be held Friday, November 27, 2015 at 1:30PM from the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike Lititz, PA 17543. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lititz Library, 651 Kissel Hill Rd, Lititz, PA 17543 or the Slatington Library, 650 Main St, Slatington, PA 18080 in her memory.
