Katherine Stewart, age 77 of Lancaster, passed away suddenly Thursday at her home. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter the late Janet Wideman and Louis Covington. She was the wife of the late Malachia Stewart Sr.

Katherine was a member of St. Paul's God in Christ Church.

Katherine is survived by 4 daughters all of Lancaster; Janet Williams wife of the late Reginald Williams, Wanda Cromedy wife of the late Alphonso Cromedy, Teresa Stewart, and Lolita Cole wife of Charles Cole, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter; Henrietta Talton and a son, Malachia Stewart Jr.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Katherine's life celebration service at St. Paul's God in Christ Church 215 S. Queen St. on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Odessa E. Coder Officiating. A Viewing will be held at the church before the service from 10-11 a.m. Interment will follow at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. Arrangements by Charles F.
