Katherine A. Proper, 89, of Lancaster, passed away at Conestoga View on Monday, May 16, 2016.

She was the wife of the late Harold F. Proper Sr, who passed away in 1981. Born in Germantown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Chris B. and Frances Horstaki Augustinovich.

Katherine had been a homemaker and had operated a diner on Manor St., Hank and Kate's Diner, for many years. She had also worked at the Jane Louise and Fulton Restaurants in Lancaster.

She was a cat and dog person, and enjoyed playing checkers, card games, and the music of Elvis Presley and Porter Wagonner. She also enjoyed the occasional Western movie. She attended the Happy Hours at the Fairview Ave. Rec Center.

Katherine is survived by her 4 sons: Harold F. Jr. married to Jean Proper of Smithville, PA, Christopher F. of Lancaster, Donald D. of Columbia, and Ronald R. of Hummelstown; her 11 grandchildren, her 27 great grandchildren, and her 8 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Madeline Ogden and Helen Sutlovich and by her brothers, Andrew and James Augustinovich.

Friends will be received on Friday, May 20, 2016 from 10-11AM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA, with the Funeral Service to follow at 11AM.
