Karl W Boog died on March 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving daughters, just 4 days after his 90th birthday. Born March 20, 1935, in Alznau, Germany, to Johann & Frieda Boog, Karl lived a life of services to others.
He immigrated to the United States at the age of 15 to work in his Uncle's dry cleaning business. At the age of 18 he joined the United States Army and went on to serve for 27 years, retiring at the rank of SGM E9. Karl was proud to serve his new country in the Army and was stationed in multiple locations throughout the United States and Germany. He served two combat tours in Vietnam. Upon retiring from the military, Karl worked numerous jobs until his retirement from civilian positions. He could often be found volunteering at his church or helping out one of his neighbors or friends.
Karl is survived by 3 of his children, Melissa Dom (Rick), Christa Prather (Derrick), and Bobby Boog (Keisha) along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johann & Freida; his siblings, Gerhard, Konrad & Christa; his son, Billy Boog and his daughter, Marlie Gordon; as well as his beloved wife Betsy D. Boog.
Karl loved a good joke or prank and one could always see by the look in his blue eyes when he was "up to something". Always willing to lend a hand, and never one to shy away from a project, just days before his final breath, he asked "What's on the agenda today?"
Karl worked tirelessly throughout his entire life. He will be laid to rest alongside his wife on June 6, 2025, in a private graveside service. The family would like to thank Masonic Hospice for the excellent care, compassion, and service that they provided to Karl and his family during his final months. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation on his behalf to Masonic Villages Hospice Program at Masonic Charities, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022-9964.
