Karen A. Staffieri, 62, of Kinzers, PA passed away on July 9, 2009 at Hospice of Lancaster County (Mt. Joy). She was the daughter of the late Robert M. and Geraldine (Homan) Dorwart. She was born in Lancaster on February 8, 1947.

Karen was the wife of the late Michael J. Staffieri Sr. who passed away in 2006. They celebrated thirty-six years together.

Karen was of the Catholic faith and a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She was a graduate of Lampeter Strasburg, class of 1965.

She was employed for thirty years as an Inspector for Vallorbs Jewel Company.

Karen enjoyed watching football, especially Notre Dame. She loved her dog Winnie, enjoyed the beach, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Michael J. Staffieri, Jr. husband of Linda, of Kinzers, two grandchildren, Abigail and Aidan Staffieri, of Kinzers, a brother Robert Dorwart, husband of Carol of Christiana, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother James Dorwart.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place from St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday, July 13, 2009 at 10am with the Msgr. Thomas Smith as Celebrant. A viewing will be held at the church from 9-10am.
