Karen Seals went home to be with the Lord on June 20, 2016, at the Susquehanna Health Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Muncy, PA. She was born on May 31, 1963 in Lancaster, PA to the late Luther Hunter and the late Rebecca A. Seals. Karen graduated high school form Wilford Academy in NY. Her professional career included various settings to include: the Jewish Community Center, the CAP Daycare program, The Recreation Center in Lancaster and the Holbrock Nursing Home in Long Island, NY. Karen was a member of Bright Side Baptist Church for many years. Karen was loved by her friends and family especially, her special friend, Delisha Eady, who remained by Karen's side. Karen is survived by her Step-mother, Audrey Hunter. Her many children that she considered her own: Monique Modestine Seals, Carin Shontel Seals, both of Lancaster, and her 5 God-children. She is also survived by her siblings; Danita (Willie), Charlene, Dorthea (Lamont), Claudette, Kizzy, Joanie, Gloria(Petersburg, VA), Dot(Chesterfield, VA), Richard (Camelia), Milford, Brian, David and Ronald (Newport News, VA). Karen is also survived by her extended family; Her loving uncle Robert; her God-sisters, Brenda, Hope, Delphine, Amanda and Denise; Her God-brother Martinez. She leaves behind a host of friends and family to mourn her to include her good friend, Phyllis Peartree. Karen was preceded in death by her Grandfather James Hunter; Grandmother Modestine Marzan; God-mother Agnes Dennison; Aunt Renee Wilson, Uncle Lamont Wilson; brother Trenton; sisters Crystal, Adrianne, and Marquita; and her nephews Brandon and Dominque. She is going Home to be with them. Karen has always had a heart of gold and enjoyed helping others, especially at the Muncy Skilled Nursing facility. During her stay at the Nursing facility, she was a member of the Peer Group and she was awarded the "Outstanding Peer 2015" award. She enjoyed attending Bingo and the various activities offered at the facility. Karen enjoyed making others smile and she will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers, Karen has requested that donations be made to Charles Synder Funeral home for funeral expenses. Memorial services will be held on Sunday June 26, 2016 at 5:30 pm at Brightside Baptist Church 515 Hershey Ave, Lancaster, PA 17603. The family will receive guest at 5pm.
