Karen A. Scanlon, 48, of 1841 Wilderness Rd., Lancaster, passed away on Friday August 8 ^th at the Essa Flory Hospice Center.

Karen was the wife of John W. Scanlon, with whom she would have celebrated 23 years of marriage this coming August 23 ^rd . Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Williams and Phyllis Marham Brady and Charles Brady of Lancaster.

Karen had worked as a legal secretary for Kegel, Kellin, Almy and Grimm of Lancaster for 16 years.

A very active member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, she was the chairperson of the Missions and Outreach Committee, was a soprano in the church choir, and had led 3 mission trips to Mexico. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother.

In addition to her husband, mother and stepfather, Karen is survived by her two sons: John W. and Michael C. both of Lancaster; her two sisters: Susan married to Walter Degirolamo and Kimberly Sloan, both of Lancaster, 5 sisters-in-law, 2 brothers-in law, her father-in-law John and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Sunday, August 10 ^th from 6-8PM at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 64 Hershey Ave., Lancaster, PA 17603,  and again on Monday from 1030-11AM. The funeral service will be at 11AM with the Rev. Alexander Goussetis officiating. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park.
