Obituary

Karen Marie Brown, 58, of Mount Joy, passed away, Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Hospice of Lancaster County Essa Flory Center. Born in Chicago, Il., she was the daughter of the late Eldridge and Mae F. (Fairbanks) Lindburg. Karen was the wife of Stephen P. (Stevie) Brown with whom she celebrated 10 years of marriage this past September.

Karen was CEO and Co-Founder of ASK Brown LLC. She was also Vice President of Travel Toll LLC and a professional recruiter for Karen Lindburg Associates.

Karen's life was dedicated to helping those who had been affected by the family disease of alcoholism and drug addiction.  Her love and kindness was freely given to persons arriving at their first meeting full of fear and despair.  She routinely sponsored 15-20 persons at a time, but still made each sponsee feel as they were the only one.  Her example of love and service will endure.

Karen enjoyed flower gardening, books, spending time with family, friends, and weekends on the beach in Sea Isle City, New Jersey.

Surviving in addition to her husband Stephen are 2 step-children, Christopher Wolf, husband of Vera, of Arlington, VA, and Emmy Gene Brenner of Lancaster, a step-grand daughter, Molly Elizabeth Brenner, of Manheim, a sister; Lois Walbaum, wife of Tom, of Pleasant Plains, IL, a niece, Linda Reiser, wife of Tim, of Springfield, IL, a nephew; Gary Isaacs, husband of Samantha, of Pleasant Plains, IL,  2 grand nieces, and 2 grand nephews, and Ebby the wonder dog

Karen's celebration of life will be held Friday, May 21, 2010 at LCBC 2392 Mount Joy Rd. Manheim Pa. 17545 at 11 a.m. Family and friends may view Karen's memorial display from 9-11 a.m. at the Church. Light refreshments and fellowship with family and friends will follow the celebration. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Lancaster County 685 Good Drive, Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
