Kan Sum, 82, formerly of Cambodia and Philadelphia, died at her Manheim Twp. home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. She was born in Preyveng Cambodia, daughter of the late Thlang Sum and Chuon Koy. She was the wife of the late Roeun By.

A homemaker and hard working mother, Kan raised 7 children by herself and supported herfamily and community who are still in Cambodia. Of the Buddhist Faith, Kan supported a Temple in Silver Spring, MD and many Temples in Philadelphia.

Her family includes 11 children: Sokha By, Savry By (deceased), La By, Sreythol By, Soeun By, Khoh By, Toeu By (deceased), Charlenna By, Keang By, Chamroeun By and Thav Sokunthy; 21 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and her deceased siblings, Sum Son, Sum Thouk and twin sister Sum Ken.

A viewing will take place from 1:00 to 5:00 PM on Friday, May 5, 2017 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. The service will be held 3:30 PM on Saturday May 6th, 2017, followed by cremation at the funeral home.
