June K. Szabo, 90, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 with her family surrounding her.

She was the wife of the late John Szabo, who passed away in 2003. Born in Columbia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Choral "Hal" and Dora M. Sowers Kline.

A Registered Nurse, June had been a nurse in the operating room at Lancaster General Hospital as well as the former Lancaster Osteopathic Hospital. She also served as the first nurse on staff at the Lancaster County Prison. She had later worked at Hamilton Technology- Bulova.

June was a 1943 graduate of Columbia High School and a 1948 graduate of Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing.

She enjoyed knitting and traveling, and was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star Chapter 501. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

June is survived by her son, Kenneth L. Szabo of Lancaster; her sisters Dorris K. Gerfin of Louisiana and Ferne K. Simpson of Palm Desert, CA and several nieces and nephews.
