June M. Coldren, 75, formerly of Lititz, passed away at her daughter's Lancaster home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 13, 2011. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late John Harris and Carrie Mae (Peters) Eckman. June's husband of 51 years, Ronald E. Coldren, Sr. died in 2011.
June worked as a banquet manager for Landis Valley Resort, next Old Hickory and then for Revere Tavern. She last worked as the coffee clerk at the Turkey Hill on Route 501.
June and her family participated in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life as the Nancy's Friends Team from 2000 to 2003 in honor of her daughter Nancy. She loved to travel and work on her computer. An avid Elvis fan, June visited Graceland a couple of times. June was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Columbia.
Surviving June are 3 children: Lynetta S., wife of James A. Flack, of Lancaster, Brenda L. wife of Dennis Foultz, of Batavia, OH, and Barry M. Coldren, husband of Peggy (Coulter), of Lititz; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and 5 siblings: Joyce, wife of Donald Geiter of Lancaster, Darlene Parmer of Millersville, Ronald Lee Long, husband of Caroline of Millersville, Susan J. Abel, companion of Timothy Myers of Lancaster and Kenneth Long of Lititz. In addition to her husband Ronald, her daughter Nancy J. Fisher, son Ronald E. Coldren, Jr. and siblings Robert L. Eckman, Patricia A. Long and Michael T. Long preceded June in death.
A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Monday, May 18, 2011 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA, with her grandson Aaron R. Fisher officiating. Friends will be received from 10-11 AM on Monday at the funeral home. Interment in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in June's memory can be made to The Alzheimer's Association of Greater PA, 2595 Interstate Dr., Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110
