Obituary

After a courageous month-long battle with an unexpected illness, Judy Weese went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. A devoted wife, mother and friend to so many, she lived in Landisville, PA with her loving husband, John. They were married for 54 wonderful years.

Judy Carol (Meeker) Weese was born to Everett Meeker, Jr. and Mary Adeline (Bennett) Meeker of Covington, IN on August 15, 1951. She graduated from North Vermillion High School in 1969 and earned an Associate’s Degree in Business from Danville Junior College (Illinois). While living in Rolla, MO, Sarasota, FL and Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, she built a successful career in bookkeeping, owned a small business (one of Florida’s first country stores) and managed the Landis Valley Associates at Landis Valley Museum for 14 years –– but most importantly, she was an amazing mother, homemaker and John’s rock.

Judy was always the kindest and most thoughtful person in the room, putting everyone else first. She was a 4-H champion, pageant queen and extremely proud Midwest farmer’s daughter and daddy’s girl. She loved living in Lancaster County because the rolling farmland reminded her of where she grew up. Her knack for decorating and love of country decor inspired many. Judy was a self-taught pianist and would often play hymns and Christmas carols for family, friends and members of the church. Amazing Grace was her favorite. She was also a passionate breast cancer survivor of 32 years and the world’s best lip reader.

Judy is survived by her beloved husband, John of Landisville, PA; her son Justin, daughter-in-law Amy and Yorkie granddogger Eggo of Lititz, PA; and her son Brandon of Marietta, PA. She was also the grandmother of two treasured granddaughters.

She is further survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Jo (Weese) Ritzenthaler of Mifflinburg, PA; along with many nieces, cousins, extended family members and dear friends throughout Georgia, Illinois, Florida and beyond. She loved all of them deeply.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Adeline and Everett; her brother; and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins who welcomed her home.

To know Judy was to know fierce, unconditional love. Those who knew her are so blessed.

A memorial service for immediate family will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to your local animal rescue or Future Farmers of America.
