Judith I. Harvey, 64, of Lancaster, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, October 29, 2008, surrounded by her family, after an extended illness.
A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Judith was the wife of Duane H. "Hank" Harvey. They celebrated 45 years of marriage on May 25 th .
Born in Elmira, NY, Judith was the daughter of Maxwell H. Wales of Jackson Summit, PA, and the late H. Marie (Lounsbery) Wales.
Judith was a graduate of Williamson High School of Tioga Junction, PA. A homemaker, Judith was the owner of Pastabilities from 1985 – 1988, making homemade sauces and pasta, in Decatur, AL. During the 1980s, Judith was a Welcome Wagon Hostess, a volunteer with The Coterie, and assisted with their cook books, and Gourmet Club member.
Judith loved entertaining family and friends at her home. She enjoyed golf, painting (oil and watercolor), traveling the world, and collecting dishes and glasses on her travels.
She was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her husband and father, Judith is survived by her daughters, Kellie M. Shepherd, wife of Elliot, of Lancaster, and Holly I. Ruof, wife of K. Randy, of Lampeter, granddaughter, Madalyn M. Ruof, brothers, John M. Wales, husband of Susan, and Jim M. Wales, husband of Balinda, of Jackson Summit, PA, and sisters, Jayne M. Huber, wife of Rick, of Elmira, NY, and Joyce M. Tanner, wife of Sonny, of Jackson Summit, PA, 6 nephews, 4 nieces, and her best friend for over 60 years, Marlene, wife of Tom Baiz.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 3, 2008 at 2 PM at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 with Rev. Ted G. Mingle officiating. The family will be receiving guests from 1 until 2 PM at the funeral home. Flowers will be received, or memorial contributions may be made to Highland Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 1801 Oregon Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601.
