Joyce E. Styer, 90, a gardener, quilter and avid birder, died Nov. 6 at Masonic Village in Elizabethtown.

Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. Fry Sr. and Wilhelmina C. Mehl Fry.

Joyce shared 59 years of marriage with her husband, Charles "Ottie" Styer, before his passing in 2012. Joyce and Charles resided in East Petersburg, where they raised four daughters. In 1995, they retired to Dagsboro DE.

Joyce attended J.P. McCaskey High School and retired from RCA Corp. in Lancaster, after working there 30 years.

She is survived by four daughters: Linda, wife of the late Lloyd Lockard III, Lancaster; Kathy Styer, the life partner of Paul Bomberger, Wellington, FL; Luann Pearson, wife of Wayne Pearson, Marietta; and Dawn Mull, wife of the late Glen "Sonny" Mull Jr. Mt Joy.

Also surviving are a sister, Marianne Shaubach, Dagsboro DE; a brother Charles W. Fry Jr., Quarryville; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren plus one on the way; and 5 great great-grandchildren plus one on the way.

Her large and growing family plans to honor Joyce with a celebration of her life.
