Joyce L. Bowers, 83, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Lancashire Hall. Born in Rapho Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel E. Wright and Grace Irene (Schaeffer) Wright.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Thompson and Walter E. Bowers.

Joyce graduated from Manheim Central in 1952 and worked at Bulova Technologies. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo and doing the newspaper puzzles. She also enjoyed collecting cardinals and cows but most of all she loved spending time with her family and playing dice games with her grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her 5 children: Lynn Felizzi (Frank) of Lancaster, Karen J. Hafer (Leeland) of Reading, Gary E. Thompson of Las Vegas, Sharon E. Thomas of Reading and Kenneth T. Thompson of Connecticut; 16 Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren and 4 nephews. She is also survived by her sister, Anna F. Harsh (Samuel E.) of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by her brother, Samuel E. Wright.

A Graveside Service will be held at Longenecker's Cemetery,West Orange Street, Lititz, PA 17543 on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 11AM with Rev. William Haughery officiating. Those joining the graveside service, meet at the cemetery. Family will receive guests from 6-8PM on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543.
