Joyce M. Baum, 67, of East Lampeter Township, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025, at Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute following a battle with cancer for over 25 years. She was the wife of Gary F. Baum, Sr. for 24 years.

Born in Lancaster, Joyce was the daughter of the late Roy V. and Emma (Hoover) Witwer. She was a graduate of Lampeter-Strasburg High School and worked as a shift manager for Burger King for 30 years.

Joyce volunteered at The Closet Thrift Shop in New Holland. She was a huge crafter, including knitting, sewing, painting, and making jewelry. She and Gary loved to camp in their RV at Spring Gulch.

In addition to Gary, Joyce's family includes her daughter Jessica Chu, wife of Michael Huy of Columbus, OH, son Jeremiah Chu of Denver, PA, three grandchildren, stepson Gary F. Baum, Jr., stepdaughter Theresa McGinnis, and three siblings, Judy Nguyen, Jane Pekala (Joe), and Jeffrey Witwer. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother J. Clair "Wit" Witwer and her sister Janet Witwer.

A viewing will take place from 10:30 to 11 am, followed by the funeral at 11 am on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Bachman Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 7 South Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA 17579. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Conestoga Burial Park
