Joyce E. Appleby, 84, of Lititz, Pa, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, April 20, 2018. She was surrounded by the love of her family in the last days of her earthly life and under the care of Moravian Manor and Hospice & Community Care. Born in Lewisburg, Pa, she was the daughter of Paul T. and Melba A.(Sechman)Moyer. Joyce graduated from Salem High School, Salem, NJ. She studied at the King's College in Delaware and Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC. Prior to marrying Lloyd in 1955, she did office work at the duPont plant at Deepwater Point, NJ and following years of homemaking and child rearing, she returned to work at National Bulk Carriers, Inc. and Universe Tankships (Delaware) Inc. in NYC and retired as Manager of Marine Personnel after 17 plus years of service. Joyce loved flower gardening, baking, and preparing holiday and special meals for all the family. She also loved bird and bunny watching in her backyard and caring for animals particularly her cats. Joyce was a member of Westgate Baptist Church, Lancaster. She and Lloyd were among the founding members of Towne Baptist Church in Joppa, Md. Joyce is survived by husband Lloyd Appleby of Lititz and four sons: Lloyd Howard of Ft. Myers, Fla; Stephen Paul of Lancaster, Douglas John of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; Timothy Ray of Broomall, Pa; and daughter Melanie Joy of Lititz, Pa. and six grandchildren Brian, Jason, Timothy, Daniel, Ryan and Emily; and four great-grandchildren Lincoln, Jonah, Jack and Zoe. She is also survived by a brother Rev. Dean Moyer, of Syracuse, NY. Funeral services will be held at 3:30PM, with visitation with her family from 2:30 to 3:30PM, on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 with Rev. Robert Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be at New Berlin Cemetery, New Berlin, PA at 10:30 AM, Friday, April 27, 2018. Please omit flowers.
