Joseph W. Tretter, 102, formerly of Lancaster, passed away Monday, September 2, 2013 at St. Anne's Retirement Community. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late John Adam and Magdalena (Wertz) Tretter. He was married to the late Alberta Catharine Tretter who passed away in 1987. Joe had worked for many years as maintenance worker for the Dodge Cork Company in Lancaster. He enjoyed his many walks and being an all- around handyman. He was of the Catholic faith. He is survived by his 3 daughters, Jane Weaver, of Point Pleasant, PA, Joanne, wife of Dr. Eugene DiMagno, of Rochester, MN, Janice Thompson, of Longwood, FL and a son, Joseph W. Tretter, Jr., husband of Diane, of Orchard Park, NY. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his 6 siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial at the Chapel of St. Anne's Retirement Community, 3952 Columbia Ave, Columbia, PA 17512 on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 2PM with Msgr. Richard Onwuanibe as Celebrant. Private Interment in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joe's memory may be made to St. Anne's Retirement Community at the above address.
