Joseph J. Stabinski, 83, a long-time resident of Lititz, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 in Penn Medicine-Lancaster General Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband of 51 years to the late Cynthia A. (Guarna) Stabinski, who preceded him in death in 2017.
Born in Mount Carmel, PA in 1943, he was a son of the late Joseph & Jeanette (Wendolowski) Stabinski.
Mr. Stabinski graduated from Bloomsburg University in 1966 and became a CPA in 1975. He began his career with Reinsel, Kuntz, Lesher, LLP in 1979 and was named a partner from 1985 until his retirement on December 1, 2007. He also spent 13 years as a Revenue Agent with the IRS, mainly working in the Harrisburg office while teaching and training new agents.
He was the founding president of Manheim Twp. Sertoma and Manheim Twp. Dugout Club; Founding VP of Manheim Twp. Soccer Assoc.; Coach for youth baseball, soccer, and football; Former Board Member of Manheim Twp. Football and Baseball Associations; Former President of Neff School Parent Teachers Association; Board Member of Central PA Chapter of Internation Association of Financial Planners; Former President of School Valley Farms Home Association. He also served on several committees of Bent Creek Country Club, along with being a Board Member of Northfield Homeowners Association.
Outside of his professional responsibilities, Mr. Stabinski was an avid golfer and outdoorsman, especially enjoying hunting and fly fishing. In his later years, he kept himself active with many long walks. He also cherished time spent with his family, most especially with his great grandchildren.
Surviving Joseph are his children, Kimberly A. McCardell (Kevin) and Joseph D. Stabinski (Linda); his grandchildren, Keegan (Kaycee), Alyssa, Kerrigan, Kaiden; his great grandchildren, Kamryn, Karson, Kohen, Ezekiel; and his sisters, Roseann Viozzi and Bernadette Markey. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth, Eugene, and James Stabinski.
Relatives and friends will be received by his family after 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 in St. John Neuman Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd., Lancaster, PA 17601, and are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Interment will be held privately for his family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Stabinski may be made to the Mount Carmel Area Education Foundation at Donate ' Mt Carmel Area School District
