Joseph C. Spinella, 74, of East Hempfield Township, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, Joseph was the son of the late Joseph J. Spinello and Dorothy M. (Geraci) Spinello. Joseph was the husband of Ann L. (Horack) Spinella with whom he celebrated 34 years of marriage this past May 31st. At age 11, he was a pitcher for the Hubley Midget-Midgets. He enjoyed playing baseball and football and also won many Drag Racing trophies. His greatest passion was boating. He spent 40 years cruising the North East River in Maryland and the Chesapeake Bay. Joseph's other passion was driving for the Amish. He will be greatly missed by his many Amish friends. Joe is also survived by his three children: Joseph, companion of Peg Stauffer, Steven, married to Jodi Greenawalt, and Cheri, married to Robert Whitman; 5 grandchildren; three brothers: Patrick, Anthony and Richard; a sister, Theresa Brill; aunt and uncle: Mary (Spinello) Elsen, married to Richard Elsen; and nieces and nephews. Joe was a furniture salesman at Unclaimed Freight for over 30 years and prior to that he painted homes and apartments in the Lancaster area. He is also remembered for his years working at Food Fair in Lancaster. A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM with a Funeral Service at 7 PM on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602. Interment will be at a later date. Please omit flowers.
