Joseph Harold (Joe) Neidig, 93, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania died on March 11, 2022.

Joe was an educator and school administrator. For two years in the 1960's he taught in the Marshall Islands and travelled around the world before returning to Ohio. Joe retired from the Department of Defense in Pensacola, Florida and later moved to Lancaster to live near his son. Joe loved fishing, tennis, and rooting for his Ohio State football teams. He ran 2 marathons when he was over 50 and volunteered helping rescue animals until he was 90 years old.

Preceding Joe in death were his foster parents Howard and Mae Lingrel, his wife Marilyn, his son Joseph Michael (Mike), and his siblings David, Betty, and Virginia. Joe is survived by his daughter-in-law Judy Neidig of Lancaster, sisters-in-law Bea Williamson of New Bloomington, Ohio and Maxine Wilgus of Sunriver, Oregon, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Joe will always be remembered as a kind gentleman who loved animals. He will be sadly missed by his family, his many friends and all their pets. Memorial gifts if desired may be made to a charity of one's choice. Burial will be private at Bayview Memorial Park in Pensacola.
