Joseph T. Mulcahy, 82, of Mount Joy, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Mennonite Home.

He was the husband of Kathleen Clifford Mulcahy, with whom he celebrated 54 years of marriage this past November. Born in Whitestone, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Murphy Mulcahy.

He was a member of Mary Mother of The Church Catholic Church in Mount Joy.

Joseph served honorably in the National Guard from 1947 to 1957. He was a leader in the Boy Scouts of America for several years.  He worked in elevator construction in New York City in the Local 1 for 20 years. Joseph will always be remembered by those who knew him for his kindness, generosity and ease of laughter.

In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by his daughters Mary Lynn married to Barry Lavender of Lititz, Joyce Mulcahy of New York; his son Cliff married to Linda Mulcahy of New Jersey, and by his 5 granchildren: Zachary and Dylan Lavender, and Bridget, Jack, and Tara Mulcahy.
