Obituary

Joseph Louis Aponte, affectionately known as JOEY beloved son of Esther M. Lentz, Lancaster, and Louis J. Aponte, was born July 22, 1968 in Lancaster, PA.  He departed this life unexpectedly September 19, 2010 at his residence in Lancaster, PA.

Joey had a flair for celebrating life and lived life to its fullest and on his terms.  He enjoyed city life and previously resided in Arizona and Philadelphia.  He was adventurous, daring, spontaneous, and an avid traveler.  Joey was young-at-heart and loved entertaining.  He was a warm kindhearted person with a humorous and magnetic personality.  He has been described as sassy, bubbly, radiant, and a ray of sunlight.

Joey was an intelligent, charismatic individual who was energetic and affectionate.  His most favorite pastimes were decorating his home, thrift shopping, and antiquing with his sisters, and spending time with his friend, Loren Armstrong in Atlantic City-he loved the beach and ocean.

He previously was a driver for Red Rose Access and prior to that had owned and operated Hide'n Seek Auction Services.  He was a member of Moose Lodge # 767.  He was unanimously voted Miss Tally Ho in 1993.

Joey was preceded in death by his beloved maternal grandfather William A. Lentz, Jr., his beloved maternal great-aunt, Elizabeth Gastrock, his paternal grandfather Ramon Aponte, and his paternal grandmothers, Juana David-Aponte and Barbara Aponte-Dolin.

He is survived by a son, Christian Alexander Lease of York Haven, PA.

Joey leaves to cherish his memory his beloved pal and dog Jack "Turtle", mother Esther M. Lentz, maternal grandmother Mrs. Esther M. (Wm. Jr.) Lentz, Lancaster, sisters: Esther "Pud" Aponte, Lancaster, Estelle M. Aponte, Lititz, and Elizabeth "Liz" Lentz, Falls Church, VA; nieces: Keisha M. "Burry Boop" Patterson, Lititz, Heather A. "Wheta Jane" Aponte, Lancaster; nephews: Bennie Aponte, Lancaster, Tony "Tony-Boy" Sprinkle and Tommy Aponte-Sauceda, Lititz; great nieces and great nephews: Damion Joseph Aponte, LillyAnna Madelynn Aponte, Aislynn Tayla Aponte, Lancaster, and Sire David DeJesus, Lititz, his uncles, William, James, And John Lentz, and his aunts Linda Ciotti and Janelle Vazquez, also his step sisters and stepbrothers: Belinda Staton, Philadelphia, Marion "Puddy" Good, Faith Ann Swift, Janie Kate Ortiz, Lancaster, Daniel R. Good, Columbia, and David Good, Landisville.  He will be fondly remembered by numerous family members as well as his extensive circle of friends.

Joey was an animal lover and will be missed the most by his little dog, Jack, who loved his "daddy" so much.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 28 th at 11 AM at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA 17602 with Rev. Tyree Sterling officiating.  Viewings will be held Monday, September 27 th from 6 until 8 PM and Tuesday from 10 until 11 AM.  Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Lancaster.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Charles F.
