Joseph G. Liebl, 82, of Lititz, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at home with his children by his side. He was the loving husband of the late Patricia Liebl who passed in 2018.

Joseph was born in Obereith, Germany and was the son of the late Gottfried J. Liebl and Maria (Blessing) Nopper. Joseph traveled alone from Bavaria to the US following WWII at the age of 10 where he was raised by his Uncle Joseph "PapPap" and Aunt Marie "Grammy" Liebl.

Joseph known as Joe to his family and Josh to his friends and co-workers, was a kind man, fun loving and had a wonderful sense of humor, often deep and thought provoking, but always ready to bring a smile or straight up belly laugh.

Joe was content and had a peaceful spirit. A quiet strength could be felt in his presence and to sit with him in silence was as if to have exchanged a thousand thoughts and covered a hundred topics. He was known for his "Liebl Logic" which was his astute way to solve a problem that perplexed anyone around him.

Joe had an interest in history and enjoyed learning about the Civil War, the World Wars and could be found watching documentaries or historical programs intently. Though not much of a traveler, an occasional vacation to Williamsburg or Baltimore was an enjoyable get away for Joe and Pat, however his most memorable trip was a return trip to Germany in 1995 with his son to see his homeland and family once again.

In his later years, Joe enjoyed relaxing on the back porch watching wildlife and spending time with his beloved Jack Russell, Booger. Most of all he cherished spending time with his family.

Joe leaves behind a legacy that is full of the fruits of spirit. Joe will be remembered for his love, the joy that could be felt in his smile, the peace that was tangible in his presence, the patience he offered to everyone in abundance, the kindness that was given from the heart, the goodness that was without measure, the faithfulness in God and his provisions, and the gentleness that was so evident in him.

Joe is survived by his children: Joseph Liebl of Lititz and Laurie Rohrer of Akron; four grandchildren: Jesse, Luke, Mollie and Anna; his sister Marie "Marille" Lugenger of Germany; stepbrothers Georg and Freddie Nopper of Germany and his cousins: Joanne (Donald) Kaiser and Mary (John) Stumpf. He is preceded in death by his wife and his stepbrother Rudolf Nopper.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
