IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jon Darnille
Lucin
February 8, 2024
Jon Darnille Lucin, 48, of Lititz, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, February 8, 2024.
Born in Cebu City, Philippines, he was the youngest son of Ask Vilma Hortillas and Luciniano M. Lucin. Jon was a dedicated and compassionate Professional Registered Nurse at Wellspan York on Tower 2, embodying the values of care and service throughout his career. He was a graduate of Silliman University, Philippines. He migrated to Lancaster, PA in 2002. He was one of the first batch of Filipino nurses hired by LGH from the Philippines.
Jon found joy and fulfillment in a diverse array of hobbies and activities that brought him closer to his loved ones and allowed him to unwind from the demands of daily life. He held a special appreciation for the simple yet meaningful moments, such as the birthday dinners shared with his family and friends, where he found solace and deep connection.
In his leisure time, Jon delighted in watching movies with his sister and niece and listening to music, finding relaxation and enjoyment in the stories and melodies that resonated with him. He loved to sing and was a lead band singer in High School. His go-to karaoke song is "Lost in Love" by Air Supply. He was also a leader in his own little way being the Corps Commander in High School and a cheerleader in college. Additionally, he found entertainment in playing video games, immersing himself in virtual worlds with his friends, like Becca. He also made videos about gaming with his friends.
An avid sports enthusiast, Jon actively engaged in physical activities like tennis and basketball growing up. He also started playing pickleball with his co-workers recently. These sports not only provided him with opportunities for exercise and recreation but also served as avenues for social interaction and friendly competition.
Beyond his personal interests, Jon was characterized by his generosity, warmth, and a remarkable sense of humor. He possessed a genuine heart for helping others, and his acts of kindness and empathy left an indelible impact on the lives of many. He was the most selfless human being in the world. He was an uncle to everyone and found joy in being an uncle. Family and closest friends call him "Langging" (our beloved). Whether through lending a helping hand or sharing a light-hearted joke, Jon's presence brought joy and comfort to those around him, leaving a lasting legacy of love and compassion.
Jon is survived by his parents, his brother Lutz Darcy Lucin (Elvira) of the Philippines, his sister Vi Darah Catalan (Glenn) of Lititz, his favorite niece YKatherina Alyeska of Lititz, and two nephews, Jared and Angelo.
