Jomar J. Almestica, 26, of York, was tragically taken from his family on August 21, 2021. Born in Puerto Rico, he was the son of Danny Ruiz, husband of Diana Castillo and Damaris Almestica, wife of Adalberto Marquez.

Jomar was well known and loved by all who knew him. He loved his family and spending time with his children. He enjoyed watching movies, playing with his children and fishing with his dad.

He will be sorely missed by his parents, girlfriend: Khalia Hammond of Lancaster, children: Samiaya Almestica, Royal Rivera, and Maverick Jamison, siblings: Jonata Diaz, Jr., Damian X. Diaz, Dianishka M. Rivera and Yandel A. Ruiz, maternal grandparents: Iris Rivera and Gilberto Pagan, paternal grandparents: Nelida Ortiz and Laureano Ruiz, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in passing by his stepbrother, Osvaldo L. Acosta Castillo.

Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing on Tuesday, August 31 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St. Lancaster, PA. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 1 at 12 PM at the funeral home. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 11 AM until the time of the service. Interment to follow at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
