John V. Wilkinson, 86, of Lancaster died on Wednesday, June 13, 2007. Born in Lancaster, John was the son of the late John M. and Rose Wilkinson. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Rosemary Brown, Mildred Adams and Betty Longsdorf.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Laushey Wilkinson; son Thomas(Linda) Wilkinson; three stepsons, Kenneth(Judy) Shertzer, Thomas(Ursula) Shertzer and Michael(Brigida) Shertzer; grandsons, Marl(Sandie) Wilkinson, Jeffrey(Susan) Wilkinson: step grandchildren, Amy(Alex) Wolfe, Gregory, Alexandra and Nicole Shertzer, Joseph, Patrick and Jaclynn Anstine: great grandsons, Michael and Mitcheal Wilkinson: sister, Florence Hardy, and several nieces and nephews.

John served his country as a Marine. He was retired from Herr and Company. He was an active member of Hamilton Park United Church of Christ, the Coast Guard Auxiliary for 36 years and the Lancaster Lion's Club.

Funeral Services will be held at Hamilton Park United Church of Christ, 1210 Maple Ave., Lancaster, Pa. on Monday, June 18, 2007 at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Bird-in- Hand United Methodist Church Cemetery.
