John Wayne Hess, 60, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Henry H. and Mary F. Fulmer Betz. John had worked as a concrete contractor in the Lancaster area for many years. He enjoyed old movies, especially westerns, reading James Patterson novels and was a big Dallas Cowboys fan. He is survived by his daughters: Hasha Hess-Reed married to Michael Reed and Michelle Hess, both of Lancaster; his 2 granddaughters Nancy and Katie Reed; his sisters, Ruth Ann Smith with whom he resided, Mary Hess, and Judy married to Joseph Secora, all of Lancaster; and his brothers, Henry married to Carol Hess of Lancaster and Ken married to Tina Hess of Denver. John is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Andrew Reed and by his brother, David, and his sister, Linda Drennen. Friends will be received on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 130-230PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E.
