Obituary

Born and raised in Lancaster County, PA, he was the son of John and Violet Sweigart. He spent his adult life in Paradise. His companion of over 60 years, Shirley L. Pickel Wasson, passed away on March 24, 2020.

He is survived by his sister Elda M. Sweigart; his daughter Regina and husband Bob Meck; four grandchildren: Carrieanne and husband Don Graybill; Lorrie and husband Ryan Moyer; Larry Dean Rubincam and Shannon Evans; Caitlyn Rubincam and Alan Hazeley; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and their families. He is also survived by his son Keith Wissler and daughter Sheila Wissler Risberg and their families.

He worked as a blaster at Belmont Limestone Quarry, a truck driver, on the family farm and Hess Mills as a mechanic.

His hobbies and interests over his lifetime include collecting tools, cars, trucks, tractors and just about anything mechanical. His favorite vacation spot was Chincoteague, Virginia. He had all types of animals over the years including but not limited to chickens, geese, ducks, guineas, dogs, cats, goats and ponies. His last house pet was his beloved black lab, Shadow.

As a couple, for many years they attended Rough and Tumble Thresherman's Reunion in Kinzers, PA, selling their collectibles at the open air flea market.

He was involved with helping raise his four grandchildren. He was loved and appreciated.

We thank you, Pop, for a lifetime of adventure.
