John W. Underwood, 64, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018 at home with his loving family by his side. Born in Lancaster, PA he was the son of the James H Underwood, Sr. and Mary V. (Cooper) Underwood. John was a graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School. He was a long-time member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Lancaster. He enjoyed riding his bike and attending High School sporting events. John is survived by his siblings: Minnie McMorris, Marzella Underwood, James H. Underwood, Jr., Joseph Underwood all of Lancaster; nieces: Angela Freed and Jennifer McMorris; nephews: Corey Underwood, Terence Underwood and Josue Underwood as well as several great nieces and nephews and many extended family members, all of whom he adored. He is preceded in death by his sister Mary Ann Underwood. Friends and Family will be received on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA 17602. A Home Going Service will be held be held Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 12 Noon, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 701 N. Lime Street, Lancaster, PA 17602. Prior to the Service, guests will be received at the church from 11:00AM – 12:00PM. Interment will follow at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
