John P. Ruffino, 57, of Lititz, died on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy. Born in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of the late Guiseppe and Anna Lina (Buffa) Ruffino. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Linda Ruffino.
John was the owner of Ruffino's Pizza & Pasta in Centerville Square for 24 years. He was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church and American Legion, Post 34, where all his friends fondly called him "Pizza John." He was an extremely hardworking, generous man with a huge heart. Nothing was more important to him than taking care of his family. As a former DJ, he possessed an unbridled love for music of all kinds. He met his wife on the disco dance floor, and they have been together ever since. He loved to watch sports with his son, especially football, boxing, and basketball. John was seminal influence and mentor to his many adoring nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by a son, Joseph M. Ruffino and his girlfriend Ashley Shank, of Lititz, four sisters: Anne Trotta, wife of Al, of Harrison, NY, Sue Apap, wife of George, of Port St. Lucie, FL, Josephine Marchiano, wife of the late Frank, of Staten Island, NY, Anna Randazzo, wife of Lino, of Staten Island, NY, brother Sal Ruffino, husband of Olinda, of Durham, NC, mother-in-law Marion Sodaro, of Bayside, NY, step mother Maria Ruffino, of Brooklyn, NY, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Marie Mannino and brother Philip Ruffino.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2014 from 6-10PM, with a Christian Prayer Service at 8:30PM, at Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 11AM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Rd, Lancaster, PA 17601, with Rev. Michael Culkin as Celebrant. A viewing will take place the hour before the service from 10-11.
