Obituary

John J. Rosales, 39, of Douglassville and formerly of Lancaster, passed away at Pottstown Hospital on October 4, 2021. He was born in Palmira Cali, Colombia, South America to Maria P. Rosales of Lancaster and the late Jose Rosales, and he immigrated to the United States at age 13 in 1995.

He was the loving and devoted husband of Karen Cadavid since 2006. They have been together for 19 years. John and Karen have three children, Ian, Madigan and Danika Rosales.

Following high school, John enlisted in the US Army in 2006 and served two one-year tours in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom with the 17th Army Forward Support Company FC. Obtained the rank of Specialist, John was awarded the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with three Campaign Stars, the Air Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, the Valorous Unit Award, two Good Conduct Medals, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Basic Aviation Badge.

Since his honorable discharge form the Army in 2013, John has worked as locomotive machinist for CSX Railroad. John loved his job with the railroad, and he never complained about anything.

John enjoyed helping people, and never expected something in return for his good deeds. He was a great father, husband, son, and friend. He was a dedicated hard worker who followed his dreams.

Services and interment will be private.
