John C. McCauley, 79, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, PA.

He was the husband of Donna L. Stoltz McCauley, with whom he celebrated 57 years of marriage this past June 4 ^th . Born in Ashville, Cambria County, he was the son of the late Charles F. and Clare Agnes McCarty McCauley.

John had worked for Bell Atlantic as a splicer for 39 years, until his retirement in 1992.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

A US Army veteran of the Korean War, John had served in a unit attached to the US Air Force.

He enjoyed camping, golfing, shuffleboard, and fishing. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by his children: Randy J.  of Lancaster, Daniel T. married to Pamela of Lancaster, James F. married to Joan of New Providence, Brian K. married to Sally of Manheim, and Sharon A. married to Christopher Riggs of Lancaster. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren: James McCauley Jr, Theresa McCauley, Jennifer and Andrew Riggs, Cody and Caitlin McCauley and Tyler, Keisha, and Tanner McCauley, and by his sister, Frances Patricia Adams of Ashville, PA.
