John C. Long, 89, passed away at his Willow Street home on Thursday, March 22, 2018. He was born in Pottsville to the late Arthur C. and Naomi Fertig Long and was the husband of Sally M. Shipe Long.

A graduate of Pottsville High School. John drove truck for Andrews Excavating, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Pulaski Lodge #216 F. & A.M., Pottsville, for over 50 years. John enjoyed taking care of his property and automobiles.

John is survived by his wife Sally and their daughter-in-law Bonnie Long of Lancaster. Their son, Richard John Long passed away in 1985.
