John P. Kowalski, 99, formerly of Millington, MD, passed away surrounded by his family at his Conestoga, PA residence on Monday, November 7, 2016. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Paul and Rosalia Hodwanna Kowalski. John was the loving husband of Verna Feltcher Kowalski for 41 years.

A graduate of Chester High School, Chester, PA, John was very proud of his service in the US Marine Corps just before the outbreak of WWII. He worked as a field service engineer for Piasecki Helicopter Company, which became Boeing, outside of Philadelphia for 39 years.

John was a member of the Maryland Forests Association, Inc. He truly loved spending time with his granddaughters and family.

In addition to his wife Verna, John is survived by their daughter Rosemary L., wife of Gary Wenczel, and their daughters Anastasia Mary Louise and Catherine Elaine Wenczel. The last of his immediate family, John was preceded in death by five siblings, Mary Kowalski Short, Joe Kowalski, Mike Kowalski, Anne Kowalski Egbert and Philip Kowalski.

A viewing will take place from 1:30 to 2:30 PM, followed by the funeral at 2:30 PM, on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St., Millersville, PA 17551.Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, 909 N. Washington Street, Suite 400, Alexandria, VA 22314.
