John W. "Jack" Hesse, 66, of Lancaster, PA and formerly of Seaford, NY passed away on Monday, March 22, 2010 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mt. Joy. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and was the son of the late Bernard and Dorothy (Forst) Hesse.
He is survived by his wife Janet N. (Molinelli) Hesse of forty years.
Jack was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church Lancaster, PA.
He served his country in the US Army.
Jack retired to Lancaster, PA in 1997.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Christina J. Hesse, of Lancaster, and a sister, Dorothea McMahon, wife of Dan, of Rockaway Point, NY and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Bernadette Hattrick, of Seaford, NY.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the viewings at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St. Lancaster, PA 17602 (TODAY) Tuesday, March 23, 2010 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm with a Christian Prayer Service held at 8pm with Rev. Daniel Mitzel.
Viewings in New York will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from the Beney Funeral Home 79 Berry Hill Rd. Syosset, NY 11791 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place from St. James Roman Catholic Church 80 Hicksville Rd. Seaford, NY 11783 on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 9:15am. Final commendation and farewell will be held in the Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY with Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jack's memory to Penn State Hershey Medical Center (Children's Hospital) c/o Office of the University Development PO Box 852 Hershey, PA 17033.
