John Hawkes slipped peacefully from this life sleeping next to his wife while floating in South China Sea. The dash between his dates March 25, 1956 and October 4, 2024 were rich, adventurous, and filled with love. A stanch liberal and environmentalist, John was a volunteer firefighter, hunter, Eagles fan, avid boater, epic air guitarist, Florida snowbird, world traveler enthusiast and father and grandfather. He lived life to the fullest.

in addition to his spoiled wife Gloria, John is survived by his beloved daughter Rebecca Hawkes and his grandchildren Harper Swiatek and Tinsley Swiatek. John is also survived by his mother Maryellen, brother Jeff, sister Mari, and newfound sister Anne, and he was predeceased by his father John Hawkes. Major life events and holidays were celebrated with his in-laws, his favorite of which was Ruth Mattioni his wife's sister.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 2nd at noon. His daughter Rebecca will post details of the event on FaceBook.
